A 20-year-old man has appeared in court in Dublin charged in connection with a fatal attack in Tallaght on New Year’s Day.

A High Court judge yesterday said this country is operating an outdated, unjust and ineffective system of awarding lump sum damages to those who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
