Suspected separatist rebels triggered four explosions, including one in a crowded market, killing three people and wounding more than 20 in India's restive north-eastern state of Assam, police said today.

A passenger bus and another bus carrying paramilitary soldiers and their families were blown up in separate explosions in north-eastern India’s insurgency-wracked Assam state today, killing four people and wounding 39 others, officials said.

HUNDREDS of Hindi-speakers in India’s northeastern state of Assam have started fleeing ethnic violence which has claimed 29 lives in the past week.
