More than 100 mountaineers are stranded in heavy snow in India’s Himalayas and at least one climber has died, an official said today.

AT least 58 people, most Russian holidaymakers, have died in floods in Russia's Black Sea region, the Emergencies Ministry said yesterday, as fierce weather continued to hit widespread areas of Europe and Asia.

Torrential monsoon rains submerged several villages and triggered mudslides in remote hilly areas in northern India today, killing at least 43 people, government officials said.
