A cake decorating expert gave evidence to gardaí about 16 bags of icing sugar found in a car driven by a Louth man accused of membership of the IRA, his Special Criminal Court trial has heard.

A Co Louth man on trial for IRA membership told gardaí in interview that it would be “stupid” of him to get involved in the IRA and that such involvement was “a one-way ticket to death or jail”.
