Former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya left his refuge in the Brazilian Embassy and flew into exile after his successor took office, ending months of turmoil during his failed quest to be restored to power after a coup.

A top aide to Honduras’ ousted president accused the United States of involvement in the coup, saying that the plane that flew Manuel Zelaya into exile stopped to refuel at an airfield where hundreds of US troops are based.
