The CCA has rejected an appeal brought by a father of six against the 15-year prison sentence he received for possessing heroin valued €5.75m, one of the largest-ever seizures of heroin in the State.

A Dutch woman whose partner has been jailed for one of the state’s biggest-ever heroin seizures in Meath in 2006 has been given a three-year sentence for possession of pistol ammunition on the same occasion.

Two men from Meath and north County Dublin have been jailed for terms of 15 years and seven years respectively arising out of the seizure of heroin valued €5.75m, the largest ever seizure of heroin at the time.
