Potential jurors in the trial of a man accused of shooting publican Charlie Chawke should have been excluded if they were supporters of Fianna Fáil, the Court of Criminal Appeal was told today.

A Dublin man’s appeal against his conviction for robbing and shooting publican Charlie Chawke more than six years ago, will be heard in July.

The trial of man charged with shooting publican Charlie Chawke during an armed robbery was dramatically halted at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after he changed his plea to guilty on all counts.
