A jury failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a registered childminder accused of causing serious harm to a 10-month-old baby.

A consultant paediatrician has told the trial of a childminder charged with assaulting a baby that some of the baby’s injuries represented a “classic textbook case” of baby shaking.
