A Bedouin tribesman has confessed to selling explosives that might have been used in three car bombings targeting Israeli tourists, Egyptian security officials said today.

Dozens of Bedouin tribesmen have been detained on suspicion that they supplied the explosives for car bombings at two Egyptian resorts that killed at least 32 people, most of them Israelis, officials said today.

Al-Qaida terrorists were blamed today for the car bomb attacks in resorts on Egypt’s Sinai coast that are feared to have killed more than 50 people, most of them Israelis.

The death toll from the Sinai resort blasts continued to rise today after an attack on a luxury hotel blamed on al-Qaida.
