The body of former Indonesian president Suharto, who led a military dictatorship for three decades and whose US-backed regime killed hundreds of thousands of left-wing opponents, arrived in his home town today for a state funeral.

Family members said they would leave it to doctors to decide if former Indonesian dictator Suharto should be removed from life support after almost all of his organ functions failed. Physicians described his condition as “very critical,” putting his chance of survival at just 50%.
