A Limerick man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a retired soldier with a sweeping brush.

A Limerick man accused of murdering an elderly neighbour with a sweeping brush said that the deceased was “like a granddad” to him, a murder trial has heard.

THE Limerick crime boss who died late on Sunday night after accidentally shooting himself in the head, only last month told a Limerick court that people were “trying to shoot him every week”.
