A shot was discharged from a sawn-off shotgun when a man who was threatening to shoot a woman tripped over her dog.

A 29-year-old Cork man who was making a threat to kill a woman in Cork accidentally discharged a shotgun during the incident, it emerged yesterday.

A 29-year-old charged with having a sawn-off shotgun following an alleged shooting incident and high-speed chase through Cork signed a plea of guilty to all charges against him yesterday.
