Two of three men charged with the murder of dissident republican Peter Butterly have been granted bail by the High Court pending their retrial in 2017.

The judges in a Special Criminal Court murder trial will rule on Tuesday whether certain communications between the chief prosecution witness and his solicitor should be disclosed to the defence.

A garda member of the National Surveillance Unit (NSU) who was present in a car park shortly after dissident republican Peter Butterly was shot dead there gave evidence at the Special Criminal Court today at the trial of three men accused of the murder.
