An Indian army general said today anti-terrorist operations against the gunmen who killed at least 119 people in Mumbai should be over within a few hours.

Fighting continued today in the middle of Mumbai as chaos and confusion surrounded terrorist attacks that killed more than 100 people.

Gunmen stormed luxury hotels, a popular restaurant, hospitals and a crowded station in co-ordinated attacks across India’s financial capital today, killing at least 78 people and taking Westerners hostage.

At least 78 people were killed and 200 injured today when gunmen opened fire on a crowded Mumbai railway station, luxury hotels and a restaurant popular with tourists.

MUMBAI’S most famous landmark overlooking the Arabian Sea was yesterday littered with blood, shattered glass and mangled car parts.
