The two teenage pals who were crowned BT Young Scientist winners would like to see their resource pack for tackling gender stereotypes introduced into schools around the country.

Both 16, the Coláiste Choilm students claimed the top prize with their project: A statistical investigation into the prevalence of gender stereotyping in 5-7 year olds and the development of an initiative to combat gender bias.

A number of scheduled sailings between Cork and mainland Europe have been cancelled by Brittany Ferries.
