The bad weather is continuing to cause considerable disruption to public transport.

A 4,000 tonne delivery of salt for treating roads is due to arrive in Cork this evening.

Both Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus have said some routes are facing curtailments and diversions because of the continuing hazards of compacted snow and ice.
