A marine engineer and inventor has set what he hopes could be a world record for the longest ship-to-shore email using his own special WiFi system.

A man who dipped his toe in the adventure boat business after beating cancer hopes to create waves with his new Cork Harbour tour-boat venture linking the city to Cobh.

The route of the first Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon to be staged on a Sunday has been tweaked to avoid clashing with morning Masses.

More than 60 events are planned for 15 towns and villages around Cork Harbour for a nine-day festival which includes sailing, surfing, seafood markets, heritage trails and the spectacular Ocean to City race.
