Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a house fire in Co Louth.

A jury has heard how a woman accused of murdering her partner in Co Louth last year allegedly stabbed the deceased four times with a large kitchen knife.

Two men charged with violent disorder following the death of a 29-year-old father of one at Christmas five years ago were yesterday jailed for three years, with part of the sentences were suspended.

The ex-partner of a fatal stab victim told a court he was often violent towards her, and that he also had a fight with the defendant weeks before the killing.
