Gardaí investigating the assault and false imprisonment of a security man in Co. Laois have made a third arrest.

Gardaí are investigating after a security man was assaulted and locked into the boot of his car at an Irish Rail compound in Portlaoise this morning.

FOR the most part they survived the whiteout but now it’s the black stuff that’s posing the biggest hazard for road users as the cold spell continues to cause trouble throughout the country.
