Authorities warned residents to remain at home today after heavy rains began falling again across Bombay and the surrounding state, which were hammered last week by devastating floods.

Hundreds of angry residents took to the streets of Mumbai today demanding the government clear rotting animal carcasses from the streets and restore water and electricity, as rescuers found more than 100 bodies in the debris of homes destroyed in western India’s devastating floods.

At least 87 people were killed in two days of crippling rains in India and another 130 were feared buried in landslides, according to authorities and news reports.
