Gardaí in Co. Laois are seeking the public's help in locating 32-year-old Tony Egan who is missing from Portarlington.

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was gunned down in front of his 11-year-old stepdaughter in an apparent gangland killing yesterday.

A Detective Garda has reiterated his evidence in the case of a two brothers accused of murdering a Co Offaly farmer, telling the Central Criminal Court he heard one of the accused say: "I hit him, you can arrest and charge me," when he arrived at the scene.
