August 2, 2005: More than 300 passengers and crew escape death at Toronto’s Pearson Airport after Air France flight 358 from Paris skids off the runway, plunges into a ravine and bursts into flames.

A two-year-old boy was the only survivor of a plane crash in Sudan today that killed 116 passengers and crew.

A Sudanese airliner crashed early today shortly after taking off from Port Sudan airport, killing 105 passengers and 11 crew members. Only a child survived, the Sudan News Agency reported.
