Two former Croat prisoners of war who narrowly escaped a 1991 massacre of more than 200 fellow POWs at a pig farm in eastern Croatia testified yesterday at a landmark trial of 17 Serb paramilitaries charged in the slaughter.

ELEVEN more Serbs have been indicted in the 1991 killing of nearly 200 prisoners of war in eastern Croatia, the war crimes prosecutor’s office said in Belgrade.

A landmark war crimes trial opened in Belgrade today against six Serb suspects accused of killing 192 Croat prisoners of war at a pig farm during the brutal 1991 war in the Balkans.
