Syrian rebels and government forces have started observing a 10-day truce in the last rebel-held area of the central city of Homs, marking another setback for opposition fighters, activists said.

Police today scuffled with an Israeli Islamic leader and several of his followers near a hotly disputed holy site in the Old City of Jerusalem where Muslims have been protesting excavations and repairs.
