A woman has been pulled alive from the rubble of an apartment building destroyed by an earthquake in Italy.

A London restaurant dished out a record £28,000 (€39,900) for a 1.88 lbs Italian white truffle during a charity auction in Tuscany.

A two-storey building collapsed early today in a small town in north-western Italy, killing a couple and their five-year-old son and injuring one man, Italian news reports said.
