More than 50 Mexican policemen were detained for eight hours after one of them repeatedly croaked like a frog and barked like a dog over the emergency radio frequency.

Pounding rain caused an avalanche that broke a Mexican gas line, setting off an explosion at a truck stop that killed several people and injured scores, according to local officials.

Six inmates were killed and 10 others were injured after authorities called in special agents to put down a riot at a prison along the US-Mexico border yesterday, authorities said.
