Dissident republicans abandoned bombs in a hedge near a police sports club in Belfast, security sources said tonight.

A mysterious tip off led to money possibly linked to the massive £26.5m (€38m) Northern Bank robbery in Belfast being found at a police sports club, it emerged tonight.

Money found last night at a police sports club in Belfast contained Northern Bank notes, police sources have confirmed.

Forensic officers are carrying out tests on money found in Dublin and Belfast today to see if it is linked to the Northern Bank robbery last month.
