Motorists were warned this afternoon of extremely congested traffic both ways on the N9 Carlow to Dublin Road through Castledermot, but particularly northbound.

A COMPLETION date of 2009 is anticipated for phase two of the planned Waterford-Dublin motorway, Transport Minister Martin Cullen said yesterday.
