A new oil find in Uganda by Tullow Oil has "the potential to be the largest oil field in the basin to date", according to the company.

Hardman Resources, the operator of the Waraga-1 well test in Uganda, in which Tullow Oil Plc is a 50% partner, today announced the completion of testing of the middle of the three zones to be flowed at the location and have now commenced testing of the upper zone.

As of midnight last Saturday, Tullow Oil’s Ugandan Mputa-2 has been cased and suspended as a potential future oil producer.
