Lava spraying from the Philippines' most active volcano has flowed almost two miles from the crater in an increasingly dangerous eruption.

TYPHOON Mitag intensified as it moved slowly towards the Philippines yesterday, triggering mass evacuations, flight cancellations and exacerbating flooding from a previous storm.
