Authorities were today trying to identify the most recently discovered human remains from last week’s interstate bridge collapse in Minnesota as recovery teams worked to find more bodies of the handful of people still missing.

The difficult job of extracting tons of broken concrete, metal bridge beams and submerged cars from the Mississippi River was moving forward in the US today, six days after a Minneapolis bridge suddenly collapsed.

Irish student Peter Friel was working just a quarter of a mile from the Minneapolis bridge over the Mississippi River when it collapsed during rush hour.
