President Donald Trump has called the gunman who killed 59 people in Las Vegas a "very, very sick individual" and suggested he was ready to discuss gun laws "as time goes by".

How very sad it is that the first-sentence reaction to Sunday’s mass murder at a concert in Las Vegas — at least 58 people killed, more than 500 injured — must contain the word “relief” but it seems unavoidable.

Five members of a Southern California family were killed in southern Nevada when their van was rear-ended by an 18-year-old driver who was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, authorities said.
