A Cork man facing a three-month jail term yesterday for masturbating behind two women visiting the city two years ago has pleaded for one last chance to co-operate with the probation service to avoid jail.

A young woman claimed her ex-boyfriend threatened to slice her face and rip her in two, during an alleged incident last weekend. But the accused denied being present, denied making threats, and insisted he was never her boyfriend.

A witness in a burglary case was allegedly threatened that she would be forced to watch another person burn in their bed.
