A CENTRAL transport authority for Dublin must be set up if the hugely ambitious plans for a major overhaul of public transport in the capital are to be realised, business leaders and politicians said yesterday.

TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern last night pledged to push through the sweeping 10-year transport overhaul on time and within budget.
