The Italian government minister who had called Germans “hyper-nationalist” arrogant blondes has resigned at the request of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

Italy tried to make amends today after a government official branded Germans as “stereotyped blondes with a hyper-nationalist pride”.
