Suspected sabotage by Maoist rebels derailed an overnight passenger train that was then hit by a freight train in eastern India today, killing at least 65 people and injuring an additional 200.

The search for those feared killed in landslides or floods continued in and around Mumbai (formerly Bombay) today as the death toll from the disaster reached 987.
