INDONESIA’S Anak Krakatau volcano lets out a roar as it blasts a gigantic cloud of smoke and flaming red rocks hundreds of metres into the night sky.

A rumour that a remnant of the legendary Krakatau volcano was erupting sent thousands of residents of Indonesia’s tsunami-hit Sumatra island fleeing in panic today.

THE tsunamis that claimed thousands of lives across the Indian Ocean this week are the deadliest great waves in over a century and probably in modern history.
