A COMPANY town with a company golf course, almost everything you see in this corner of Sheboygan County, Wisconsin appears to have the name ‘Kohler’ stamped on it, from the bathtubs to the owner of this week’s US PGA Championship venue.

WHEN asked by a journalist why the set-up at his superb complex at Whistling Straits has such an Irish flavour, Herb Kohler’s face lights up: “Ireland”, he exclaims with undisguised relish, “I love the place.”
