US Secretary of State Colin Powell today sparked confusion over the role British forces might play in a peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.

Opposition forces say they have flushed al-Qaida fighters out of their Tora Bora cave hideouts and forced them to retreat to a mountaintop in eastern Afghanistan.
