A 7.3 magnitude earthquake near the Iraq-Iran border has killed more than 400 people and sent residents fleeing their homes into the night, authorities said.

THE Iranian president called for “profound changes” in US foreign policy yesterday, saying the Islamic Republic would welcome a real and fundamental shift from the new American administration.

A strong explosion today wounded several people in the governor’s office in Kermanshah, a city with a large Kurdish population in southwestern Iran, the Iranian news agency reported.
