An offshoot of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah Party has carried out its first suicide bombing against Israel since a February 2005 truce.

Thousands of troops, including anti-riot units and mounted forces, began their push into two West Bank settlements today to evict 2,000 heavily-armed extremists.
