Suicide bombers and gunmen stormed a government compound in eastern Afghanistan, killing 10 people, officials said.

Roadside bombs have killed two more soldiers in southern Afghanistan following a deadly weekend that saw eight US troops killed in a Taliban attack.

Four US soldiers were killed and another was wounded while fighting militants in eastern Afghanistan, the military said today.
