Planning approval for a €90 million office scheme, capable of hosting 3,000 jobs, has been granted by Cork City Council for a significant urban site — the next springboard move into docklands renewal in the city.

THREE weeks away from moving the first 270 Tyco staff of 700 proposed in the multinational giant’s global HQ into the €50 million-plus Cork office development One Albert Quay, the John Cleary Developments 170,000 sq ft landmark building “will act as a talent magnet for Tyco, and for Cork.”

Retail will move centre stage in Cork during 2016, with economic recovery prompting new city centre developments, new trader arrivals, and the sector will also be characterised by moves to ‘market’ rent negotiations, where rents can go up or down, a final end to the ‘upward only’ regime.
