An off-duty detective witnessed an assault in the middle of a busy roundabout shortly before lunchtime where the attacker tried to stab the victim in the head with a scissors.

The family of a 75-year-old Indian-born man, brutally beaten as he waited for a bus in a Cork suburb, do not believe the incident was racially motivated.
