A couple left a vulnerable pensioner “in a state of absolute fear”, forcing him to leave the home he loved and move into HSE accommodation.

A young Clare couple charged in connection with the alleged blackmail and false imprisonment of a pensioner who was living by himself were yesterday returned for trial.
