The response to the Grenfell Tower fire was branded a "disgrace" after the British Government revealed the majority of the families who lost their homes have not been permanently rehoused.

Grenfell Tower survivors have resorted to searching for new homes privately out of frustration at the council's rehousing efforts two months after the fire in London.

A woman who fled the Grenfell Tower fire in London found she was still having rent deducted for her wrecked flat by the council, a campaigner said.

Downing Street has since confirmed that 11 blocks of flats in eight local authority areas in England have been found to have flammable facades.

A total of £202,000 of British government money has been handed out to 180 families who were directly affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
