The students and teachers of Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn are delighted to be finally moving into their very first bricks and mortar school, after spending more than two decades in prefabs in an overflow carpark of Brian Dillons GAA club, writes Jess Casey.

The Department of Education still intends to build a new home for a gaelscoil on Cork’s northside but says it has to complete the acquisition of the site from the city council before work can begin.

THE country’s newest Educate Together national school is on track to open next month after taking dozens of enrolments at the weekend for up to 2012.
