A coal mine collapse in China’s far west region killed 13 miners in the latest incident to hit the country's disaster-plagued industry.

At least 22 workers were killed and some 60 missing after a gas explosion ripped through a mine in China’s far west, the government said.

A typhoon which has caused havoc in Taiwan is now heading towards Hong Kong and China.
