THE prosecution closed its case yesterday on the 33rd day of the trial of a Cork man accused of money-laundering — as a garda sergeant was cross-examined on whether he heard the accused say he hadn’t slept for two nights while in custody four years ago.

A Cork car dealer who was given £200,000 in 2005 by the man accused of money-laundering testified today that Ted Cunningham told him at one stage: “Get rid of it”, so he hid what was left of it in a fertiliser bag in a stable.
