A father of four caught with three sea bass — one more than was allowed — while fishing on Derrynane Bay, is to have his fishing rod and gear confiscated.

A keen south Kerry fisherman, a member of an angling club for 20 years, is being prosecuted for landing and killing three sea bass on the shores of Derrynane Bay.

PARENTS were warned yesterday not to allow their children to use inflatable beach toys after rescue services responded to almost 50 calls in the past week involving children drifting out to sea on the “killer” toys.
